Our history

La Casa del Grano began life in the 1950s as a small artisan workshop in the local town market in Via Pola drawing on the experience of the Rais family. The choice of recipes and ideal processing techniques for the production of Is Malloreddus developed into the creation of a modern pasta-making company, situated in the industrial area of Cagliari/Elmas.

Graziella Rais, Dario’s daughter, has taken over the mantle of the family business, improving and adapting the existing machines, as well as creating new ones in a quest to obtain a production that still reflects artisan pasta making, with the guarantee of an industrial product that is safe and constantly checked following strict criteria at every stage.

She has also understood the importance of innovation through a highly skilled and reliable workforce, expanding the range of traditional Sardinian pasta to include the wholemeal range, which is now very much in demand with customers focused on well-being and staying in shape. The Le Rustiche range, the highly popular traditional Italian pasta line, is now also available in a wholemeal version.
